Development Update 6 March 2014

District Councillor Mike Morris, Hook’s ward member on Hart District Council’s Planning Committee, has issued the following statement about the latest position on these planning applications:

Brown Croft (Ratified at Full Council subject to further highways checks).

After the Full Council Meeting and because of questions asked at the previous planning meeting and the question asked at Full Council regarding the highways support the Council receives at planning meetings, the Corporate Director and Monitoring Officer requested that the highways element of the subject planning application be checked by an independent highways expert to ensure the road and entrance/exit to the site scheme was safe and within highways policy. If the highways scheme is deemed safe the application grant documentation will be released.

Reading Road (clarification and entrance/exit safety investigations)

At the planning meeting the entrance to the site was discussed, as the planning ward member considered the entrance/exit too close to John Morgan Close entrance and so requested further investigation. At Full Council the Chief Executive advised the meeting that the minute recorded at that planning meeting was considered not sufficiently clear and so he directed the application back to the planning committee for clarification. Only the minute can be discussed, as the planning committee had already granted permission. The entrance/exit will be resolved under condition and probably by a sub committee of the planning committee. Once the planning committee has resolved the minute the application will return to Full Council.
