Waste and Recycling

Hart District Council waste and recycling collections are still operating as normal. Please read the information below of how to dispose of personal waste (e.g used tissues) if you suspect that you have COVID-19.

“Personal waste and disposable cleaning cloths should be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin. Other household waste can be disposed of as normal”

Green waste collections (pay for service) have been suspended and the Household Recycling Centres are currently closed.

Please do not take items to recycling banks (found in local car parks and supermarkets) as they are not being emptied during the present emergency. The recycling banks across the district are managed by third-party companies that work directly with the relevant charities. They are not managed or emptied by Hart District Council.

Some commercial operators who remove rubbish/garden waste are still operational, but please ensure that there are registered to ensure that your waste is not being illegally fly-tipped. You can check they are registered hereĀ https://www.hants.gov.uk/wasteandrecycling/flytipping
