Each year the Council includes in its budget, provision to give grants to support local groups and organisations with their activities, within the community of Hook. Grants applications are accepted throughout the year and considered by the Environment and Community (E&C) Committee at their monthly meetings.
At the last meeting on 19th October, the Committee considered 3 applications and Councillors were delighted to provide grants to support the following groups:
- Hook Allotment Association – given £801 to purchase and install 2 recycled material picnic benches at the allotment site
- Hook Players – given £800 to part fund an upgrade to the lighting at Elizabeth Hall, which will enhance performances
- Hook Village Halls Charitable Association – given £500 to part fund the very popular annual half-term fun event for children
The Council still has grant funds available for this financial year, so if you belong to an organisation who could benefit from grant funding, please look at our website for further details, including full policy, qualifying criteria and application forms. https://bit.ly/3WCjMTN
