Planning Update

Hook Action Against Over Development (HAAOD) have issued their latest newsletter giving an update on planning/development related matters that Hook residents may be interested in:

  • Premier Inn Hotel coming to Hook
  • New settlement\Shapley Heath Garden Community update
  • Local Plan update
  • Holt Farm SANG application

See the Parish Council website https://hook.gov.uk/category/news/development/ or to subscribe to the newsletter, please go to https://hookdevaction.org.uk/subscribe/ . A paper copy is also available from the Parish Council Office.

The Parish Council Planning and Infrastructure (P&I) Committee agenda for 24th July included consideration of the Holt Farm SANG application).  However, due to inaccuracies in the submitted plans the application had been taken off-line from HDC’s planning portal, so is likely to be discussed at one of the September P&I Committee meetings.  Please see our notice boards and website for future P & I agendas.

Please be aware that whilst Hook Parish Council is consulted on planning matters, the Council’s representation is only one voice.  If you wish your views to be taken into account by HDC in their determination of planning applications (whether in support or in opposition), please submit comments directly to Hart via their planning portal, or planning@hart.gov.uk

Hook Neighbourhood Plan – VOTE YES

The Hook Neighbourhood Plan will be taken to the residents of Hook in a Referendum on 7th October.  Please support this important document for the future of Hook by voting YES and also encourage your friends and neighbours to do so.  See page X for more information on the voting process.

Hook Village Show

Over 2000 people attended the annual Village Show which took place at Hartletts Park on 7th July.  The Dog Show was very popular this year, with over 90 entries!  The Parish Council would like to express their gratitude to Hook and Odiham Lions, who organised the event on behalf of Hook Parish Council.  Thanks also to the other Lions Groups (and their friends) who, worked in conjunction with other local organisations, such as Odiham & Hook Rotary and the local Scouts, to put on another great show.

The feedback we received has been very positive and those that attended had an enjoyable afternoon.  We look forward to seeing everyone again next year

Defibrillators and CPR Training

Did you know that a CPR self- training kit is available to borrow for FREE?  The kit contains an instruction DVD, providing lifesaving information, along with several inflatable “Resuci Annie” dolls to practice on.  Please contact the Parish Council office if you wish to borrow the kit.

In a real emergency, when advised by the Ambulance Service to use one, there are two defibrillators currently available in Hook, with a third to come soon.  These are located:

  • Opposite the Grand Parade shops near the zebra crossing
  • At Hook Community Centre adjacent to the Squash Club entrance

Echo Hotel Music Club/Hook Live

There are only three gigs left in the 2019 Echo Hotel Music Club (EHMC) programme.  Planning is already well underway for 2020 and the calendar is filling up fast.  The next gig is on Saturday 28th September.  For details of the programme of EHMC events and tickets, please see page X or visit their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/echohotelmusichook/ or the EHMC website at www.echohotelmusicclub.co.uk
