Use of Community Centre car park
Now children have returned to school and no longer have staggered start and finish times, congestion in the car park at Hartletts Park has returned. Please can we remind residents that this car park is for the staff and users of the Community Centre and Hartletts Park, NOT parents dropping off or collecting children.
The congestion in the car park is exacerbated by road users driving/sitting in the yellow hatched areas in front of the café which prevents cars from exiting the car park. Please can drivers be courteous to others and be mindful of pedestrians that are crossing the car park.
To ease the congestion, we recommend that parents use Crossways car park (by the Doctors Surgery). This is free to use until 9am. When it comes to afternoon pick up, permits to use in the Crossways car park can be obtained from the Hook Infant School Office. Please do not use the free 1-hour parking ticket system as the free tickets are funded via your precept (Hook Parish Council part of your Council Tax) whereas the permits are given free of charge to the school for this use and the charge is therefore not passed onto residents.
