Each year the Council includes in its budget, provision to give grants to support local groups and organisations with their activities, within the community of Hook. Grant applications are accepted throughout the year and considered by the Environment and Community (E&C) Committee at their monthly meetings.
At the last meeting on 25th January, the Committee considered the applications received and awarded a grant to support the following group:
Hook Care Group – £165 – This is to fund the cost of hiring a hall for their AGM and Annual Coffee morning. It is also to cover the cost to replace their mobile phone so people can contact them.
Hook Care Group are a voluntary driver group, providing low cost transport to medical appointments in Hampshire for people needing transport. They do not charge to transport residents to appointments within Hook. In 2022 they made 582 drives to medical appointments for residents of Hook and the surrounding area.
