Facility of the month

The Parish Council own and manage lots of facilities in the village that many don’t know about. Therefore, we have decided to highlight a facility each month. As it is Love Parks week, we thought we would kick it off with Hartletts Park.

Nestled in the heart of the village next to Hook Junior School, Hartletts Park is a large popular green space that comprises of four football pitches (2 x 9 a side, 1 x 7 a side, 1 x 5 a side), skate park, outdoor gym and a children’s playground. It also home to Hook Community Centre (where our office is located) and Hartletts Café. To the right of the Community Centre, there is a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) and three, free to use, Tennis Courts. It is popular with dog walkers and families, for picnics in the summer.

The pitches are hired from us by Hook United and Hook & Odiham Rugby Club. The park is also hired by a number of commercial companies to run their businesses from. Details of our rates can be found on our website at https://hook.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Hartletts-Park-and-Mitchells-Field-Hire-Charges-2022-23.pdf.

From time to time the whole park is used for large scale events such as the annual Hook Village Show (1st Sunday in July). It is also closed for a number of hours when HSCA (Hook Schools Community Association) hold their Annual Firework Spectacular. The Park and Tennis Courts are part of the fall out area, so have to be closed for safety
