Elections

On Thursday you will have the opportunity to vote for your District Councillor who will represent Hook at Hart District Council for the next four years. The names of those standing for Hook can be found on page 8 of the statements of persons nominated – District document that can be found on Hart District Councils website https://www.hart.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2023-04/statement_of_nominations_-_districts.pdf
Please be aware that this year there will be TWO Polling Stations. Hook Community Centre and Elizabeth Hall. When you received your polling letter it detailed which one you needed to attend. If you cannot find this go to https://wheredoivote.co.uk/ and put in your postcode so you know where to go. If you go to the wrong station you will not be able to cast your vote !!. You also need to show photographic ID. A list of authorised forms of photographic ID can be found here https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/voter-id/accepted-forms-photo-id
As only 8 people put their names forward to become Parish Councillors for the next 4-year term, there will be no election taking place for the Parish Council. Those 8 people will automatically become a Councillor (once they have signed their Declaration of Acceptance of Office) after the 5th May. We will look to fill the remaining 4 seats through the co-option process, which will be advertised in due course. The names of those who will become your councillors for Hook Parish Council can be found on page 8 of the notice_of_uncontested_elections document on Hart District Councils website https://www.hart.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2023-04/notice_of_uncontested_elections.pdfE
