Sainsbury’s Roadworks

As many are aware, prior to the opening of the new Sainsbury’s next year, some significant changes to the road layout are required. The developer has informed us that they have written to residents and provided us with a copy of that letter, a picture of which is on this post. These changes are likely to cause significant disruption in Hook and we have raised concerns with the developer, Hart District Council (HDC) and Hampshire Country Council (HCC). However, they have informed us that the works authorised by HDC and HCC must go ahead and the plan is as follows.
On Monday 10th October works will start but will be on the verges only and we have been advised that no road closures are planned.
At the end of October/beginning of November road closures are expected to be put in place and are anticipated to remain for 6 months.
The road closures are:
  • B3349 Griffin Way North will be closed from the roundabout to Oak Tree Drive
  • B3349 Griffin Way South will be closed from the roundabout to Four Acre Coppice
  • The A30 will remain open but will have traffic light controls either side of the roundabout.
We understand that there will be a need to close the A30 and the B3349 in both directions for a period of 2 weeks for overnight works at the end of March.
