Happy New Year

The Councillors and Staff of Parish Council wish all of our residents a Happy New Year.  We have lots of activities planned for the coming year, so look out for updates in the usual places – Hook Focus, noticeboards, our website, the Hook App and on our Facebook page.

Community Christmas Lunch

At the time of writing, the 2019 Hook Community Christmas Lunch is in the final stages of planning.  Thank you to all the residents and businesses, who have either donated time, money or goods to this event.

Become a Parish Councillor

Would you like to become a Parish Councillor?  There is currently a vacancy for a Councillor.  If you have a strong interest in your local community, would like to help shape the future of Hook and influence what residents’ money is spent on, then this may be the role for you.

The closing date for applications is Friday 30th January 2020

For more information and how to apply, please go to our Website, Facebook page or the News section on our App.  Alternatively, please contact the Executive Officer, Anne Atkins, for more information or a chat about this rewarding role.

Christmas Tree

A big ‘thank you’ to Hortus Loci for providing the magnificent Christmas tree at Grand Parade.  Thanks also to Sandra Tidy (The Base) and Marian Bright, who organised decorating the tree and the ‘Carols Round the Tree’ service on Saturday, 7th December.  Hot chocolate and mince pies were given out to everyone, who came along to join in the fun. It was a lovely community get-together and had a large turnout for this annual festive event.

Hook Neighbourhood Plan

We have been advised that the court date for the Judicial Review will be 21st January 2020.  As this date is after the copy deadline for the February Focus, we hope to provide an update regarding the outcome in the March Edition. Any interim updates will be available on our website, Facebook page etc.
