If you are planning a development in Hook, whether it’s a conservatory or a scheme for several hundred houses, please come and talk to the Parish Council. Our local knowledge and experience may be able to save you time and/or money.
If a neighbour is planning something you’re not happy with – or that you want to support – then please contact us. We need feedback from residents to inform our own response. You can contact us by emailing or by getting in touch with the Parish Council Office.
The Council’s Planning Committee has meetings scheduled twice a month to discuss applications, appeals and other planning matters. See the Calendar of Meetings for dates, times and locations. Sometimes meetings are cancelled: in this case a notice will be posted on the Agendas page of this site a few days beforehand.
Members of the public are welcome to attend Planning Committee Meetings and may be allowed to speak if invited to do so by the Chairman.
Planning Applications
Hook Parish Council is a consultee on all planning applications within Hook parish and on Major applications in adjoining parishes.
Some minor or non-contentious applications may be delegated to the clerk and chairman of the planning committee. All delegated decisions are ratified by the committee at the next meeting. Applications involving Councillors or members of the Council’s staff are heard by the Committee wherever possible.
Updates on Major Developments and Development Policy are published on our Development News page.
